Vector Foundation is a New York–based non-profit dedicated to amplifying the voices and ideas of contemporary artists. Originating with the first Vector Artists Journal in 2008, the project brings together essays, interviews, and interdisciplinary work from creative communities across global cities.

The ethos of Vector is rooted in connection—connecting local artistic ecosystems to a wider cultural dialogue. Each edition of the journal takes place in a different city, functioning as both document and catalyst: capturing the distinct artistic community of each place while contributing to an expanding archive of creative thought.

The visual language is a disciplined system in black and white, reflecting the clarity, conviction, and forward momentum of the organization. Drawn lines energize the visual language, introducing rhythm and tension whilst giving an ode to the style and immediacy of early punk zines. This reference acknowledges the spirit of grassroots artist gatherings—direct, manifesto-driven, and unconcerned with unnecessary institutional barriers.

The name Vector signals direction and movement: a structure designed to carry artistic perspectives outward. Its modular logotype, inspired by the idea of axis, was developed to support the foundation comprehensively as well as its evolving offshoots. The resulting framework is both expansive and resolute.
